“innovation! one cannot be forever innovating. i want to create classics.” — coco chanel
hello my dears! as promised here (thank you from the bottom of my heart to all who voted– your support means the world to me), i have an outfit post for you! this one was taken during a little adventure to a nearby park, full of eerie staircases, lonely park benches, and sprawling old trees. i thought it would be a nice juxtaposition to my neutrals: a classic black mini skirt, a black knit sweater with gold metallic threading, and a leather trim camel cape. i’m definitely a cape girl– i love that they can be so sophisticated yet playful at the same time (and you never have to worry about how much you eat when wearing them). i’m carrying a fairly new addition to my wardrobe: a black snake skin print michael kors clutch with square gold handle– a total classic. while a dressier clutch is usually a more formal item, you’ll see everyone wearing clutches for day in an effort to take a more casual outfit up a notch. and last, but definitely not least, i have found my dream bright tangerine lipstick and i couldn’t be happier about it: MAC’s so chaud (pronunciation has been quite the topic of debate– i’ve settled on “so show”). orange is a fun departure from my favorite red. have you experimented with different lipsticks readers? if not, i’d suggest easing in with a highly pigmented lip stain (stila and sephora make great options) to get accustomed to seeing such vibrant color on your lips. then try a sheer lipstick before moving to a matte. it’s a process, but i promise you can learn to love lipstick!
