i wasn’t sure if i could do it, but i’ve managed to make it to tuesday. if you’re reading this, that means you have too. i had the best time this past weekend at the wedding of two of my dearest friends– i can’t wait to show you the photos– but it has certainly been a rough start to the work week. spending the weekend celebrating with friends who love each other like family reminded me how very blessed i am to have such an amazingly close-knit group of friends from college– friends who celebrate each other’s joys as if they are their own. i don’t think very many people know me better than my college friends. after all, how fitting was it that my intro song (each member of the wedding party had their own) was “material girl”? i couldn’t have selected a better song for myself! on that note, let’s talk about my outfit. for this post, i’m overdosing on floral. the floral tank is by one of my favorite designers, carried exclusively in omaha at piper: darling, an english line with a decidedly feminine, vintage flavor. the cut and pattern are perfectly girly. i’ve really been gravitating toward these loose, swingy cuts during these over one hundred degree days we’ve been having (sidenote: sweat was literally dripping down my face during these shots, which is probably what i was laughing about. somehow cassondra was able to make me look presentable– i don’t know how she does it). i really wanted to showcase these fun floral wedges, which were a new addition to my shoe collection this summer. i adore the almost neon and black floral pattern. my third floral element is my headwrap. if you haven’t noticed, i have this american apparel scarf in three colors (also seen here and here)– i’ve definitely become addicted to these little things. they are such an easy way to control unruly hair on a hot day (although my hair was not unruly during this particular shoot because it had been styled by the phenomenal katie hoke-harrower– more on her here).
and how can i forget? the whole point of this outfit post is to introduce my new glasses… tada! meet one of the current loves of my life… my warby parker prestons in gimlet tortoise. i wear them incessantly because i’ve been waiting for 28 years for the day i could wear glasses. i definitely need them during my long hours in front of the computer screen {for those who don’t know, i’m an attorney by day}, but i really want to wear them all the time. and if you don’t know about warby parker, you must check them out. $95 for a pair of prescription glasses and a pair also goes to someone in need– does it get any better? i can’t wait to buy another pair. as my friends will attest, i’m obsessed with “hipster glasses” as they call them– i just call them glasses. plastic “hipster glasses” even happened to be a party favor at allison and bobby’s wedding! how fitting! my post came full circle without me even planning it :)
